What is herbal medicine?

Kruidengeneeskunde

Herbal medicine, also known as phytotherapy, or "treatment with plants", is the treatment of health conditions and diseases with vegetable resources that are free of chemical ingredients. In fact, secrets and information about this kind of medicine has been preserved and passed on for centuries.

Herbal medicine has many different traditions and are used in several different cultures - western, Chinese, Ayurveda and more. However, the philosophy of herbal medicine varies by culture.

  • In Europe, herbal medicine was based on Hippocrates' humoral pathology, in which the aim is to restore the balance between the four bodily fluids: blood (sang), yellow bile (chol), black bile (Melanchol) and mucus (phlegm).
  • Anthroposophy is based on the insights of Rudolf Steiner, who said that the human body contains four interconnected parts: the physical body, the etheric body, the soul and the spiritual core. Anthroposophic medicine sees disease as an imbalance between these parts and tries to restore the balance with the help of anthroposophic medicine that makes use of herbal remedies.
  • Traditional Chinese is based on traditional recipes prepared from many different plants, according to the philosophy of the five elements theory. These elements are wood, fire, earth, metal and water. Under healthy circumstances, all elements are in balance. In times of imbalance, complaints and disease, one or more of these elements become unbalanced. Phytotherapy is then used to restore this balance.
  • Ayurveda believes that the body follows the mind and that a physical illness is caused by an imbalance of spiritual energies. These energies are vata, pitta and kapha. Phytotherapy, among others, is used to bring these energies back to their default setting, as it was at birth, because for them, that is the optimal balance.

The Go4Balance herbal drops are based on the four elements theory of Hippocrates, the father of Western medicine.

We can also translate the four bodily fluids to the four elements: earth, water, air and fire.

Every human being possesses the four elements to a specific proportion.

When imbalance occurs in one or more of the elements, the others feel out of balance.

For that reason, Go4Balance herbal drops are designed to support a specific element that's in need of assistance, and helps to rebalance the elements and their proportions. In addition to taking the herbal drops, a Go4Balance consultant will also look at your lifestyle, movement, and nutrition in order to best direct and assist you in creating a healthy balance.

And lastly, Go4Balance herbal drops are a range of products from herbal medicine that will support people in a holistic way by strengthening all aspects of their life.
